The Hitler Youth Badge was a political decoration of Nazi Germany, awarded for various degrees of service to the Hitler Youth. The badge was first created in 1929, with formal regulations for presentation as a decoration formalized in 1933. In all, there were three degrees of the Hitler Youth Badge,〔Lumsden, Robin (2001), ''Medals and Decorations of Hitler's Germany'', The Crowood Press Ltd. ISBN 1-84037-178-1〕 these being the: * Hitler Youth Badge * Golden Hitler Youth Badge * Golden Hitler Youth Badge with Oakleaves Most adult leaders of the Hitler Youth, in particular those holding the rank of ''Bannführer'' and above, automatically were awarded the standard Hitler Youth Badge. The badge was also frequently awarded to SS members who had some connection to the Hitler Youth.
